Boston is a smaller Israel gateway than New York, which changes the game. When the nonstop has space, take it. When it does not, the best backup is usually one clean connection through Canada or Europe, not positioning to New York and building a fragile two-ticket trip.
Search Flying Blue and Qantas for El Al’s BOS-TLV nonstop. Delta had announced daily service for October 24, 2026, but its current official update says the launch is delayed until further notice. Do not plan around it unless Delta restores bookable service. If the nonstop is dry, search Aeroplan through Toronto or Montreal and Flying Blue through Paris or Amsterdam.
Ranked: the Boston options
-
El Al nonstop through Flying Blue. Flying Blue can book El Al partner awards and accepts every major transferable currency: Amex, Chase, Capital One, Citi, and Bilt. That makes it the best first search for most Boston travelers.
-
El Al nonstop through Qantas. Qantas is the fixed-chart comparison for El Al. It accepts Amex, Capital One, and Citi. Search before transferring, because partner award space is limited and transfers cannot be reversed.
-
Delta nonstop - delayed until further notice. Delta had announced daily BOS-TLV service for October 24, 2026, but a newer official update says the launch is delayed until further notice. Treat Delta as unavailable unless your exact date shows a bookable nonstop. SkyMiles pricing is dynamic, and Amex transfers to Delta.
-
Aeroplan through Canada. Air Canada sells Boston-Tel Aviv itineraries, usually through Toronto or Montreal. Aeroplan pricing depends on the operating carriers and full routing distance; partner itineraries also carry a C$39 fee per ticket. Amex, Chase, Capital One, and Bilt transfer to Aeroplan.
-
Flying Blue through Paris or Amsterdam. If El Al partner space is absent, the same Flying Blue balance can book Air France or KLM connections. This is a useful fallback because you do not need to transfer to a second program.
The BOS-TLV search order
- Search Flying Blue for BOS-TLV nonstop.
- Search Qantas for the same El Al flight.
- Check Delta only if its schedule again shows a bookable BOS-TLV nonstop for your exact date.
- Search Aeroplan for one-stop Canada routings.
- Search Flying Blue again, this time allowing Paris and Amsterdam connections.
- Compare points, cash, cabin, and the total door-to-door time.
Do not rely on a headline price from an old deal post. Delta prices dynamically, Aeroplan uses route and carrier rules, and El Al partner space comes and goes.
Should you position to New York?
Sometimes. If four family seats open from JFK or Newark and Boston has nothing, a positioning flight or train can save the trip. But separate tickets add misconnection risk and make checked bags harder. Leave a large buffer or overnight, especially before yom tov when a missed flight can ruin the whole plan. Read the family award-seat guide before splitting a group.
