Chase does not transfer to El Al. It does not transfer to Qantas either. But Chase points can still put you on an El Al plane through one clean path: Air France-KLM Flying Blue.

The short answer

Find an El Al partner award on Flying Blue, then transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Flying Blue and book immediately. Do not move the points before the seat appears; Chase transfers are final.

The Chase-to-El Al path

  1. Open a free Flying Blue account.
  2. Search your El Al route one way at a time on Air France or KLM’s site with miles selected.
  3. Confirm the result says El Al and check the points, taxes, cabin, and flight number.
  4. In Chase Ultimate Rewards, choose Transfer points to partners → Air France-KLM Flying Blue.
  5. Transfer only what the booking needs, in Chase’s required 1,000-point increments.
  6. Refresh Flying Blue and book as soon as the points post.

Chase says most partner transfers process by the next business day but may take up to seven business days. That delay matters when only one or two El Al partner seats are left.

Why Qantas advice does not work for Chase

Qantas is one of the strongest El Al booking programs, which is why so many guides say “transfer your bank points to Qantas.” That instruction does not apply to Chase. Chase’s current airline list includes Flying Blue, United, Aeroplan, British Airways, Iberia, Virgin Atlantic, and others - but not Qantas.

If all your points are at Chase, Flying Blue is the direct El Al path. If you also hold Amex, Capital One, or Citi points, compare Qantas before transferring anything. The Qantas-El Al guide covers that branch.

Ranked: Chase options when El Al space is gone

  1. United MileagePlus. Chase transfers to United, which flies Newark-Tel Aviv nonstop. United pricing is dynamic, so search the exact date. The EWR-TLV guide compares it with El Al.
  2. Air Canada Aeroplan. Chase transfers to Aeroplan for United partner space and Star Alliance connections through Canada or Europe.
  3. Flying Blue on Air France or KLM. The same Flying Blue account can route you through Paris or Amsterdam when no El Al partner award is available.
  4. Chase Travel. A paid El Al ticket booked with points through Chase can make sense when cash fares are low or partner space is absent. Compare the final portal price and ticket rules, not a headline redemption rate.

Which Chase card unlocks transfers

Chase’s official transfer guide names Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Ink Business Preferred as cards that can transfer to partners. A Freedom card earns Ultimate Rewards but does not by itself unlock airline transfers; points can often be combined with an eligible card in the same household.

Ranked: the Chase cards for Israel flights

  1. Chase Sapphire Preferred - unlocks Flying Blue, United, and Aeroplan transfers with a lower annual fee than Reserve. Apply now
  2. Chase Sapphire Reserve - the same core airline partners with stronger travel benefits. Apply now
  3. Ink Business Preferred - useful for a business owner building Chase points and transfers to the same airline partners. Apply now
